Our SIU conducts a wide range of investigative activities including scene and locus investigations, statements, photographic and video documentation, wellness checks, and the secure collection of records and supporting documents. Each investigation is managed with an emphasis on professionalism, efficiency, and clear communication, ensuring rapid turnaround times and well-organized, court-ready reports that support informed claim decisions and withstand regulatory or litigation scrutiny.
Open Records
We obtain any and all open records requested by the client that are available to the public, including but not limited to police reports, 911 calls, investigative materials from various agencies, scene photos, dash/body camera footage, autopsies and toxicology reports.
Residency Check
Make contact with the resident at the provided address to verify that they live there and verify their contact information , speak with neighbors by conducting a neighborhood canvass.
Activity Check
Discreet - no contact with claimant/resident of the provided address. Conduct a neighborhood canvass to determine if they know of the subject and activity level. Obtain video if any activity is observed.
Alive and Well
Schedule a visit with the claimant or claimant’s attorney, complete questionnaire, obtain photo of claimant, house and neighborhood.
Widow Check
Schedule a visit with the widow receiving death benefits for deceased spouse by contacting the widow or widow’s attorney, obtain signed widow affidavit, complete questionnaire, obtain photo of widow, house and neighborhood.
Medical Canvass
Contacting medical facilities within a radius of their address to confirm/locate places of treatment and ability to uncover pre-existing conditions, unreported medical treatment, identify where the subject has been treated before, and potentially uncover incidents of attempted fraud. Through default, we contact hospitals, urgent cares, and pharmacies. If you would like additional facilities, such as radiology or orthopedics, please specify in your assignment request.
Medical Canvass and Record Retainment
A signed medical authorization from the subject is required. If you are in need of a signed medical authorization, our SIU team can contact the subject to obtain a signature.
Dependent Check
Meet with guardian of dependents receiving death benefits from deceased parent, schedule with guardian or attorney, verify dependent’s age/ grade, obtain dependent’s class schedule or proof of enrollment, complete questionnaire, obtain photo of dependent with guardian’s permission.
Recorded Statement
Obtain a recorded statement from insured, claimant, 3rd party, witness, etc. Can be done in-person or over the phone/zoom. Statements can be summarized or transcribed.
Scene Canvass
Canvass a loss location for any witnesses to the accident by approaching all surrounding residences and businesses to inquire. Obtain statements from any located witnesses.
Scene Canvass for Video
Canvass a loss location for any surveillance video of the accident by visiting all surrounding locations with exterior cameras to inquire. Obtain a copy of the footage if located.
Accident Scene Photos / Diagram
Using police report, visit exact loss location. Obtain photos from the vantage point of each driver. Provide/photograph type of roadway, speed limit signs, construction in the area, lighting, traffic lights, etc. Conduct light sequencing upon request by obtaining video of traffic lights full cycle from all four cardinal direction.
Document Signatures
Obtain subject’s signature on supplemental agreements, serve subpoenas, affidavits (notarize), and medical authorizations.
Trial/Mediation
Attend proceedings and provide detailed notes and attendance. We do not participate in negotiations.
Investigation
Theft, Property Damage, Worker’s comp, slip and fall, injury by obtaining statements from claimants, employers, and witnesses, scene photos and measurements, surveillance video and police documents/incident reports.
Tag Checks
In person visit to the DMV to obtain registration and insurance information.
