Digital evidence is increasingly central to P&C claims, from property and vehicle damage photographs to estimates, records, documents, and electronic communications. When a file’s authenticity is in question, our forensic specialists examine the file itself and report what the evidence supports, with appropriate qualifications.

Where digital forensics can support a claim

    • Questionable damage photos
    • Suspected image manipulation
    • AI-generated images
    • Altered documents and records
    • Inconsistent claim photographs
    • Email and attachment verification
    • Digital evidence preservation

What we examine, and what you receive

    ServiceWhat we examineWhat you receive

    AI Detection

Best for: questionable property, vehicle, loss, or supporting images when SIU or Claims needs to assess whether content may be AI-generated and whether deeper review is warranted.

    What we examine

Images are screened for indicators associated with generative AI, C2PA content credentials, Google SynthID, and available EXIF metadata. When supported by the evidence, we assess the likely generation or editing service.

    What you receive

A concise findings report covering scan results, provenance indicators, initial EXIF data, and qualified interpretation.

    Image Analysis

    Paired with AI Detection

Best for: claims where damage, origin, manipulation, or consistency among photographs is in question.

    What we examine

Deeper extraction, parsing, and static analysis. Findings may include editing-software markers, device-specific evidence, embedded previews, structural anomalies, and reverse-image-search results.

    What you receive

A detailed report explaining available evidence of origin, processing, modification, and technical differences among images. Analysis addresses the file and its provenance, not the truth of the depicted subject matter.

    File Analysis

    Document & PDF analysis

Best for: potentially altered or misrepresented estimates, invoices, contracts, records, supporting documents, or other files submitted in connection with a claim.

    What we examine

A file’s metadata, internal structure, signatures, embedded objects, software markers, timestamps, authoring information, and possible creation or modification workflows.

    What you receive

A documented technical assessment of recoverable facts, relevant metadata, structural observations, and notable inconsistencies.

    Email Analysis

Best for: claims where photographs, invoices, documents, or other evidence arrived by email and investigators need to evaluate their relationship to the sender or message chain.

    What we examine

Available headers, routing and authentication results, message metadata, attachments, and relevant conversation context, supplemented when appropriate by open-source research on senders, domains, or identifiers.

    What you receive

A forensic review of the message and enclosures, including sender and routing details, attachment relationships, and evidence-supported investigative findings. Original MSG or EML files provide the strongest record.

    Enhancement & Recovery

    Enhancement

We utilize specialized forensic techniques to enhance images and video, improve visual clarity, and examine details such as license plates and other identifying features.

    Recovery

Our services also include recovering accessible data from damaged, corrupted, or otherwise inaccessible digital media to help preserve valuable investigative evidence.

    Each submitted file is fingerprinted.

Each submitted file is assigned a SHA-256 cryptographic hash, documented in the report to identify the exact file examined and support integrity verification.

Important scope note. Findings depend on the quality and completeness of the submitted evidence. Source or original files generally support stronger conclusions than screenshots, exports, or recompressed copies. No AI detector or metadata field is conclusive on its own; conclusions are based on the combined weight of available indicators and reported with appropriate qualifications.

When digital evidence raises questions, our forensic specialists can help you take a closer look.

Scope and pricing are tailored to the evidence and requested depth of review.

    Surveillance

Surveillance is the monitoring of an individual’s daily activities to obtain video evidence that is both impactful and difficult to refute. The activities recorded can prove an individual to be working or acting beyond their restrictions. Multiple surveillance dates can be helpful in establishing patterns of behavior or inconsistencies.
